I am Dr. Maddie Nishany. I graduated in 2009 with distinction from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. To work as a vet in Australia, I had to pass my National Veterinary Exam (NVE) accreditation, which I achieved in December 2015. Since then I have worked in several Adelaide veterinary hospitals. I am very excited to be part of the Port Road Vets team.
In 2018 , I completed a post graduate surgery course through the University of Sydney. My special interests include: soft tissue surgery, ophthalmology and clinical pathology. I also have a keen interest in animal welfare. It is my lifelong passion to work towards maintaining the health and well-being of animals.
In my spare time I enjoy cooking, gardening, running and spending time with family: my husband Dimi, our 2 year old son and Alexa, our 3 year old, very naughty cat.
